Sail 4 Wildlife is an event created by World Wildlife Sanctuaries (WWS) to raise awareness and funds to Save Our Koalas from Extinction.
World Wildlife Sanctuaries is a not-for-profit organisation and is operated by Volunteers.
Weekly Specials
Our Weekly Specials are as good as you will get in any Supermarket in Australia. As well, we have a multitude of Fortnightly Price Cuts that save you money on a large range of popular products. A large number of ‘In Store Deals’is accompanied by a huge range of Long Term Lower Everyday prices.
On top of our specials we have a huge range of groceries that in a lot of cases is larger than the Major Chain Stores. We will carry the products that the larger stores won’t keep and we will endeavour to acquire special products if requested.
Store History
The Store was originally built and owned by John McLachlan in 1883 and was called the Argyle Store. In 1890 the store was sold to Mrs Margaret McAlpine who renovated the Store and put a second storey on as a residence. Mr John Moorhead ran the store for her until 1898 when he sold out to E.C. Bishop.

The Staff at SPAR Maclean are the lifeblood of the success of this well established business. They are genuine in their concern to ensure that you have a pleasant shopping experience. If you want some assistance, in most cases, it is offered before you have to ask. Don’t be frightened to ask though as they are never too busy to help you find whatever is eluding you. If they don’t know where it is, they will find someone who does.

We not only financially support the various Organisations; we are, in a lot of cases, actually active members of some of those Clubs and Organisations.

Our Fruit and Vegetable Department has quality that is second to none. We will genuinely guarantee this quality with a ‘No Questions Asked’ policy to any problems you may experience with our product. The Serviced Delicatessen is a destination in its own right. Just to stand in front of the Deli for a short period is an experience you won't forget. Don’t be surprised to see customers being harassed for no apparent reason from some of the outrageous Staff, all in the name of good fun. Obviously it is all ‘tongue in cheek’ and the serious side is that, like the Fruit & Veg Department, quality is the number 1 priority and there is also a no questions asked policy with any problems you may have.
